If You Think...

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don't
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't
It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you've lost
For out in the world you'll find
Success begins with a fellow's will
It's all in a state of mind.

Full many a game is lost
ér ére a play is run
And many a coward fails
ér ére his works begun.

Think big and your deeds will grow.
Think small and you will lag behind.
Think you can and you will.
It's all in a state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself,
Before you can win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late, the man who wins
Is the fellow who thinks he can.

Anon.

This is one of the many poems that goes to show how much we are what we think. Our actions are a result of our thoughts. Rene'Descartes, a French philosopher and psychologist, talked of dualism, the mind and how it affects the body. He is well known for his famous tag line, "I think therefore, I am."
Positive thinking goes beyond believing you can it is visible in your actions and speech.
